2018 UK Xfactor / Original Livin Joy “ DREAMER”
Janice Robinson is an international singer/songwriter, who rose to fame with as the lead singer in the 1990s Italian Eurodance group Livin’ Joy, before embarking on a solo career.
The group had a number 1 global hit around the world with ‘Dreamer’, in which Robinson wrote and recorded the track. The track also made it at number 10 in many other European countries.
In 1999, Janice began her solo career, releasing her debut album ‘The Color Within Me’. The album included hit ‘Nothing I Would Change’.
In 2000, Robinson toured as an opening act for Tina Turner on her U.S. leg of her world tour. Janice’ biggest hit with Livin’ Joy was reissued with new production. “Dreamer ’05” became a massive hit with fans and DJs alike making the top five of the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart.
Janice’ dance single, “Earthbeat” is featured on the compilation Pride 1998.
Robinson then took a long hiatus, had two daughters and also cared for her ill parents.
In 2015, Janice teamed up with award-winning producer DJ David Morales and released ‘There Must Be Love’. The track was a huge hit and reached number 1 on the US Billboard Dance Charts.
In 2018, Robinson made headlines when she auditioned for The X Factor with her hit ‘Dreamer’. She surprised the judges when she revealed to the world that she wrote and recorded the single.
In 2019, Janice spent the spring and summer touring the UK and abroad. On August 1, Robinson released a new single titled “Freedom”, teaming up with DJ David Morales once again.
In 2021, Janice continued working on a documentary about her life, alongside performing across the UK and abroad.
In 2022, Robinson announced that she was continuing to work on her documentary about her life story. On 8th January, she announced on BBC Radio 2 that new music is in the works. The first single called ‘Essex Girls’ with British rappers who used the verse of ‘Dreamer’ to be released in January and a brand new version of ‘Dreamer’ to be released in February. Janice said she was “excited to reach a whole new generation” of fans who love her music.
